A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

This bike had been my street bike for the previous 10 years, but has been parked for the last 3 and needs some attention. The paint is a mishmash of colors, original matching on fairing, tank, front fender...side fairings dont appear original color and side covers are wrapped in vinyl. Tank has...

    Bridgstone BT45 Review - GS1150

I recently purchased a set of BT45's for my GS1150, in the OEM 110/90-16 front and 130/90-17 rear. I took the bike to a local trackday and turned the first wheel on the track. Bridgestone reccomend 100 mi. break in (so to speak). The first lap was timid, the second was brave, and every lap after...

    1150 staggered jetting

I am working on jetting my 1150, and am wondering what experience the GS members have with the staggered jetting - larger mains for cyl 2&3. I have a large selection of main jets and am contemplating whether to keep the 4 mains the same size, or follow the OE set up with larger mains for 2&3...

    Exhaust Pipe Crush ...Repair?

I am just wondering if there is anyone with experience repairing caved in aftermarket 4-1 headers? I have several and if for no other reason than appearance, I would like them to be round. The stock pipes are not stacked on top of one another and provide additional ground clearance. Can these be...

    Project GSX1000 Katana

I am thinking about turning it into a vintage race bike and running a few track days and races with it. I can no longer afford speeding tickets and have a hard time enjoying these bikes at street legal speeds.

    Project GSX1000 Katana

OK... I bought this as shown in the picture. It is an 82 1000 Katana that needs a lot of everything. On the plus side, even the way it appears it will run. I am currently collecting parts as needed, but the bike will have to be completely torn down and the house paint that was used to paint the...

    83 gs1150es

I thought I would post some pics of the newest addition to my garage, and the source of the most current drain on my time and cash. The frame is #'d 363 and the engine is 127. It has 32,000 miles on it and was stock except for the V&H pipe - jetting.

    1150 Starter Clutch Question

Did not Kick Back Did not Kick Back I think it is a good idea to set up the delay for starting the bike, or timing retard... but this did not happen because of it kicking back, most likely from (previous) wear on the clutch internals. With the engine running at a low idle, the clutch would...

    1150 Starter Clutch Question

This bike is making me work for it. I completed the charging system upgrade, works great. Rebuilt and re-jetted the carbs, runs great. Put the bike back together and went to fire it up one last time to verify that the final assembly was good and "whing-a-ding-ding-ding" the starter clutch is no...

I thought these pictures might provide some encouragement to anyone that is overwhelmed by a seemingly large restoration project, crash damage or what-have-you. This is a GSXR1100 that I bought for 250.00 and was able to bring back to life... as a track bike anyway. Dont let the initial...
