Custom/replacemnt gauge faces?
I need a set of gauge faces made, I heard that at one time there was a GSR member out of Ontario making them, if anyone has any information on these it is greatly appreciated.

If you have PhotoShop or Illustrator, it's pretty easy.
1. Pop your gauges off.
2. Dremel around the outside rim.
3. Remove glass, take out screws, disassemble gauges.
4. Take both face-plates and scan them into your computer (picture will work but rotation and sizing will be affected).
5. Open in your choice of photo editing program...
6. Go to town.
Last: Ensure the sizes you print are the same as what was scanned in, and use a high-quality anti-fade photo paper.

How do you plan on re-crimping the bezel after it's cut?
A much better idea is to wrap the plastic housing with masking tape and pry open the bezel, that way you are able to re-crimp the bezel when finished re-assembling the gauge.

Rudy's gage faces were laser cut (or something similar). Real nifty stuff.Ed

How else would one get them off? Aren't the black plastic rings fused to the orange cups? (Or is this something completely different?)

Nope not fuse. Take a small flat tip and gently pry the crimped over rim up..litle at a time all the way around and keep going round and round till the edge is up and you can remove the plastic cup from the bezel ring. Slow and easy ittle at a time. Then you recrimp the edges over when you reassembe. repaint the ring if you want and reinstall in the guage housing.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
