Wonder why my turn signals aren't working...

Anyone have any guesses? Fuses are good, switch activates 12v through the 6 and 4 port connectors... Maybe this is a factor?

I hooked up 12v to see what they looked like. Not bad for super cheapo ebay specials.

I've a box of those at home. all are duds in some way or another. working on a replacement unit for them.

Judging by the scarcity and price of the units on eBay, I have to assume there's another to go about wiring these up?

                    Of course.

Looks like I'll be wiring in a standalone system then. Bummer.

You sure the '80 is the same as the '79?

I have an '80 850 and it seems to be the same as the '81 and '82 850s that also live here.

The '79 uses a momentary contact, self centering, three position switch. the 80-up uses a 5 position switch.

                          Look into self latching relays.

one should be able to make a system using two of them and a non latching relay, which will allow the turn signals to operate and manually cancel; all without having to cobble up the wiring.

No cobbling it up, probably see about modifying the switch to not self center. Seems a lot less cost prohibitive and convoluted than 3 relays. I couldn't care less about a self cancelling turn signal either, lol.

I suspect you could buy those three relays for less than $20 total.
