DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I am sure this is not the right area but a lot of people helped me get this bike together... Ray, I can't keep the front wheel on the track. 1st,2nd,3rd, nothing but sky in the visor... hitting 5th at the finish line...
Any suggestions on gearing or just get the wheelie bars mounted and get the times down... lets hear your thoughts...:D
Curt

How come you are running 34mm carbs, on such a large engine? I think 39mm - 40mm would be better fit. G.

ok,
with comments like this it is mandatory that you post a video clip of your above allegations....
you have been for warned!!!:twistedevil:

I agree, ...

O.K. Here we go...

Don: They are 38's Typo in sig. line

Blower: Working on it...

Chef: Street Strip...

Video clip from crappy phone... maybe soon.

Curt, if you are hitting 5th right at the finish line, you need 3-4 more teeth on the rear. You need to be in the neighborhood of 3.2-3.26 on the gear ratio for that motor. Ray.

Keep diggin, if you can launch it..that is a mid 10's machine you have!

Mid, heck i'd say low. My cb1100f would run low 10's, 125 to 128 in the traps. Of course i had a bar on mine but it would spin alot.

Thanks for the support guys...

Ray: I have extra sprockets so that is my next change...

Jwhelan: The track was real sticky..

King: It had 180hp rear wheel when it was built in '89.

And I really would like to get my old wheelie bars on it...
We shall see...
Curt

Man, gotta see this thing in action!

I'm thinking of drawing up a quatermile on a lonely stretch of road outside of town and seeing what I can do. You know, record it with a walking-wheel (or just the bikes odometer) and paint lines at either end, plus fit a handlebar push-button for a stopwatch. Nothing special, but should be fun.

Anyway, good luck with the bike and hope it gets where you want it to.

Cheers - boingk

That bike SHOULD run in the 9s as is! With a slick, wheelie bar, & air shifter it is an 8 second bike! Ray.

I guess it is all in the education of the hands... sounds like I need to change the gearing and go play some more...:D

Hey guys... I tried to get the video off my friends phone, but no luck. We are going back this week and I will get someone with a real digital video camera to take some shots... sorry
Curt

You need to get over here curt Lets lower that front end extend the swing arm 6 or 8 inches and I can help you with your posture.

I imagine you were sitting up in the wind and grinning like a retard going to chucky cheeses

besides you need to see my new ride. the tail light of it anyway.lol

no really you have to make some comprimises on suspension to keep the front down better. strap the front or slip the tubes in the trees - just for track days.

best I got with my GSXR was 11.36 @ 124mph wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'

man I love a good Journey song - race reference.

We are going Thursday to Union Grove... I was grinning looking at the clouds! I will change preload and slip the trees tomorrow... Whats the new ride?
Curt

Went to the track again last night... Still 11.30's at 123mph... Time to get to the gearing and strap the front end. I am going to get a set of struts made for the wheelie bars.. have to make more money first... Still had a blast.
Curt:D
