A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Can anyone tell me if a 1100E 16 valve motor will fit in a 1000E frame? I fired up the road kill bike and it is smoking more than I remembered it did last year. It has excellent compression155-155-165-160, so my guess is oil rings stuck or valve seals. I am going to run it awhile and see what happens, but if it don't clear up I have a few options 1 of which is a 1100 E motor, and was wondering if it will bolt directly into my frame. If not I have my other 1000 motor I can use till I can afford to fix this one.;)

Bump,
I can't believe that no one on this site ,has never tried this swap. It looks like it would fit .

A lot of folks put 1100G or GK top ends on the 1000E motor, haven't heard of doing the 1100E swap. I'm sure it will work, not sure how much fabrication it will take. Let us know how it goes.

Have read here before in (threads now in the archives) that the 1100E engine will bolt-in, with the exception of the bottom engine mounts. You can either make adapter plates or skip those mounts. Reproduction Decals used to sell the adapters. You might want to try the search feature to dig up more info.

just do it

just do it

No problem swap. one spacer on the upper front mount, valve cover will sometimes interfere with the bottom of the tank. all the rest of the mounts are the same.

The mount Reproduction Decals is/ was selling is to swap a 4-valve 1100 motor into a 4valve 750 chassis.
I'll add a few pics

HJFISK Just saw your PM Thank You. The 1000 with the wires is in storage, I'll dig it out this weekend. Do you need just the hubs or good rims or ?????

Should be an easy swap. Just don't think about it too much and it goes right in.

Thanks for the replies. As I am not sure yet if I have to make this swap it is a option.I have D port head , and 1100 cylinders for this bike , but if I'm doing it , I'm going to do it all big bore cams, and head. So I will need a chunk of cash to do it with. And now is not the time for me to be dumping that kind of money into a motor. So I will use a good running motor to get me by. That was the original plan any way just might need to find a better runner than what is in the bike. HJFISK Just saw your PM Thank You. Dennis, I am looking for the wire wheels as a whole. I want the Aluminum spoked wheels . I have a set of steel wire wheels that I could use but want the aluminum ones. I believe they only came on the 1000's. And a s the pm said I have a tank for you.

A guy I know has ridden one for the last 25 years but I dont know much about it. There was no cutting or welding though
