A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1150/1100 Header compatibility

So obviously the 1100E will fit my 85 1150 then ?

The main (essentially only) difference you will find is in the location of the rear hanger. There is about a 3" difference. I don't recall which is longer but have modified 1150 Yoshi race headers (large down tube with underbelly design) for my 1100 by alone moving the rear mount.

Just something similar I'd like to know; will headers for the later SACS oil-cooled 1100 engines fit the GS1100 engines?
I'm talking about the GSXR1100, Bandit 1200, Katana GSX1100F, and all of the SACS engines.

The header is the same. The difference is where the rear, muffler hanger bracket is located. All of the 16 valve, NON Katana, 1100s will swap around with no issues. The 1150 & early Katanas have the same rear hanger bracket location. Therefore, the 1150 & Katana exhausts swap directly & all the 1100E (including the 1100ES) exhausts swap directly. I hope that isn't confusing.
Ray.

I don't know to what extent the GSXR 1100 headers differ from the GSXR 750's but the latter will fit the GS 1000 in terms of exhaut spacing.
The diameter of the tubes is slightly smaller but can be adapted...
Be ware that there is zero clearance to the lower crankcase cover.
The exhaust on the picture comes from a GSXR 750 from 1991 I believe?

The best fitting GSXR pipes for a GS1100E are the 1st gen GSXR1100 pipes. I had a collection of them.

I was looking at some Bandit 1200 headers and wondered if I could fit those on my GS1100G. Many nice headers for the SACS engines.
