All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Once the cylinder has cleared all four set of rings it should slide easily the rest of the way down. Then the motor should turn easily/smoothly at the crank.

I think I got them in right, not too hard to turn. The cylinder I got was not chamfered at all on the bottom, I had to take a grinding wheel to it, seconed try and they went in nice.

Bill, I talked to Bruce last night & we are going to get together to get your bike back home. You should see it in 2-3 weeks. Ray.

Just say "There will be cold Newcastles for the man that delivers it to my house!!!" LOL!! :D Ray.

The bike is at Kris V's house and I am parting out the L to purchase a blue 83 GS1100 E roller from Posplayr (Jim)

Good to see you still in the saddle!

My two bikes are being delivered to my by Kris V on Friday. I got all the electrical and Jim's engine dialed in for him. The 1230 motor is going in to the 83 GS1100E very soon.
I also have to but my Progressive springs in the front forks and do the seals. Thanks to thecafekid I have a real nice set of front forks to work with.
Put my Progressive HD springs on a nice set of shocks thanks to Saltymonk.
Change over to my good rubber.
Put my new chain on.
Do the coil relay.
Needs paint and side cover rubber but it will be a runner!
I'll keep the pics and updates coming!

The L is officially dead. Motor out and frame is chopped.
I have some pics I'll post tomorrow.

The blue ED is going to be the new terror bike.
I'm transferring from the L the Progressive fork springs, Progressive HD dual shock springs, 1229 motor, Avon tires, drive chain, coil relay, and probably alot more I'm not thinking of at the moment.

Wouldn't be a west coast rally if Bill didn't put his bike together the week before...
