A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

got an 18" front wheel to match my 18" rear on my black gs550E. Tire sizes are now 130/80-18 rear and 100/90-18 front. much better match from the 19" behemoth that was on there. Much to big for a 550.

I recommend this mod. If you can find one. The rim width is also the same as my 19" and the rotor bolted right up. Also recommend spraying them black. Also want to note that the rim DOES NOT support bolt holes for a right side disc, which may be an issue for 650-1000 guys with dual discs and calipers.

Looks great!

Have you noticed any difference in handling from running the 18" front rim?

Just put it on this afternoon, so I did'nt get a chance to ride it yet. I imagine it should handle slightly better since I lost some mass and weight. And the bike sits about 3/4 of a inch lower. I'll ride maybe tommorrow then post.

Looks great...I am curious though what the speedo difference will be, or did you use the drive gear from the 18" wheel? If you kept the one from the 19", you'll be reading roughly 2mph faster than actual speed at 60mph. Also...not to jerk the thread in a different direction...is that one of those F-16 fairings that J.C Whitney sells? I saw one in their catalog, but had no way of telling what they looked like on a bike. How much of a difference does it make?

hi

hi

If u want a front guard the one of a GSX 550 esd will fit as the original guard will look out of place.

Ya know, I kinda like the black pipes, what did you paint them with and how is it holding up under heat.

I did'nt try the 18''s speedo gear yet. It sits slightly different on the hub but I'm sure I could squeeze it in there. It was 1/16 in. wider. ........the fairing is from a Buell. I got it from ebay and painted it black.............the exhaust is from ebay. It came in powder coat black. It's a MAC exhaust from Bike-Parts-Outlet on ebay. They sell for $99 plus shipping.

Nice look. While you are monkeying around with your front end you might think about chopping that fender down.

Just a thought.
