A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Very nice!

Very nice!

Looks fantastic and I agree, the shots are great! As long as you like the side covers, that's all that matters.

I am glad you went back to a smaller can too, looks much better than that monster you had on there before.

After seeing the final paint job, I like the colors and design. The only thing I would change is the side covers. I do like how you positioned the letters to above the stripes instead of in the blue, only now replicate the blue and the white stripes above the GS1000 letters like it is below and it would match the scheme of the tank and tail perfectly.

Would also make the stripes all parallel.

Thanks, Chris. Your pipe brings it all together. I could not be happier with the exhaust!

Should be picking up some Ohlins here shortly. Going to install those and put in Sonic springs and rebuild the forks at the same time. I really want to get the suspension dialed in as perfectly as possible. The motor is a cherry right now...just need to get the chassis as dialed in as the motor.

Most of the time guys take a beautiful bike like yours was on the trailer and screw up the looks.Yours came out beautiful. I didn't read, did you do the paint yourself? The bike is great.

Thank you! I did not. Had a friend-of-a-friend do the paintwork. He owns a body shop here in Cincinnati.

Ordered my suspension overhaul parts.

- Ohlins S36P 14.33" with HD springs
- Sonic straight cut springs
- RaceTech cartridge emulators

Cannot wait to get it all installed!

Good heads up. I got the oil as well already. Will look into fork brace as well.

The FFTP fork brace is pretty close to being period correct as is a Telefix if you can find them. I have a telefix I bought in 1981 on my 1000ST and one I bought from a GSR Member last year on my 1000EN. They work and they blend in very nicely.

Got accepted into a custom moto show here in Cincinnati! Pretty stoked!

Great looking bike. Excellent color. I'm not a fan of brown motorcycle seats but the craftsmanship is superb. Congrats on the moto show.

Thanks, gents. Looking forward to the show. Just have to put my Ohlins on then Ill be good to go!

Hey mattfeet great custom 1000!!!! I like how it's totally your bike, but you can still see the factory 1000 hiding in there!
Can we get a good pic of the tail piece? That's the main thing I want to change on my Litre, I don't like the lard ass look from mid seat back... I just haven't figured out how to slim it down without ruining the bones of the bike!

Great work on your 1000 though!

The Cincinnati Cafe Racer group hosted our 2nd annual Garage Brewed motorcycle show last weekend. Unfortunately, the show fell on the same weekend that my wife and I were moving into our new house so I didnt have any time to work on cleaning up the bike. That said, I think the bike showed pretty well! There was a lot of very positive feedback from people, especially the paint color and seat combo. Finally got my Ohlins installed as well. I cannot wait for it to warm up!

The show is held at a fairly large brewery here in Cincinnati. The first year, we had 3-4k people come through. This year, it was estimated we had around 7,500 people come through the show. It was PACKED. We've already outgrown our venue in two years!
