If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I am new to the board and just finished restoring a 1978 GS1000 to add to my mostly unrestored collection of Suzuki's and Kawasaki's. The Photo's are in my Albums if anyone is interested?

Welcome to the site, Jamie.
An amazing collection of bikes. Beautiful Cooley.
A lot of us came to site to get help with restoring our GS. Obviously you did not need the help. haha.

Thanks guys I appreciate it! Both of the Cooleys and most of the other bikes are not restored, only the 73 Z1, the green 76 KZ900 and 78 GS1000 are restored.

Welcome

Welcome

Nice collection. You're now my idol. Do you do your own restoration or farm it out to others?

Also, I hope you keep your garage door locked at night and have a big dog that sleeps inside every night. :D

Oh, we're all interested!:D Very nice collection of bikes. I like the teal GS 750. My favorite color. Welcome to the site.

Yaaaa.......it's ok. If you like that sort of thing. Personally I like cramped quarters with very little funds.

Wow

Wow

Very nice, love them all, especially the Suzuki's.

What's the history on the 2 Cooley's, how long have you had them and what's the mileage?
I see they are both '79 models and one looks like it has a Travellers seat cover, both look in great shape.

I have a register that I keep all the VIN's for all the known Cooley's, I would appreciate if you could either post the numbers or PM them to me.

Regards,

David

Welcome. Wow museum quality! Very nice collection. In what part of the globe do you reside?

Thanks guys it makes all my hard work worth while! I live in Northern Va and I do all my own work. I grew up on bikes (Suzuki's and Kawasaki's) and then got away from the old bikes for many years as cars took up most of my time (restoration, racing and such). Many years ago as car prices just got crazy and taking up too much space I decided that I would like to collect some of my favorite bikes from the 70's and I found an old 76 kz900 (the root beer colored one) from the original owner so I bought it and it has just kind of grown from that. I looked for years for a nice 78 GS1000 like the one I had in 1979 and could never find a nice one so I decided I would just find a complete bike and restore it, I bought if from the original owner and it ran great but was just junk to look at but it was all there so I restored it, and it is my favorite bike, not because I restored it but because in 1979 I raced one and it never really leaves you. I try to find unrestored mint bikes like most of mine are but I have no problem with a correct restoration if they are available. As far as the Wes Cooley bikes go I feel I always wanted one and they are one of the best muscle bikes of all time IMO and fortunately for now still underpriced also. I bought my first Cooley from the original owners estate after he passed about 2 years ago with a fresh engine rebuild and 56k original miles but to see it in person it looks like a 5000 mile restored bike and I even prefer the aftermarket seat cover over the original and that is coming from a guy who only likes oem stock as a general rule. The other Cooley I bought about a year ago from a dealer who had it on his showroom floor for the last 20 years and it is 100% stock except for the tires and it has 22k miles and looks like a brand new 2014 motorcycle in person. I like the Suzuki's the best but I also really like the Kaws a lot also.

You have too many bikes. You need to let me have one. Follow my instructions. You are getting sleepy.
