A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I cannot seem to find a carb kit that hass the rubber pilot plug included. Mine are not reusable. They have tuned to a mushy consistency Does anyone know where to get a kit that includes these little plugs?.

Don't buy a carb kit, the stock Suzuki jets will be much much higher quality then what they'll give you. Just get some Berryman's carb dip and soak all the parts instead, then poke through the holes. You can get those little plugs from Boulevard Suzuki, or Z1 Enterprises (which is wayyy faster).

Thanks! My jets probably can stay in place. The bike sat for many years and I think a good deep cleaning is all they need. Those little plugs were the only stumbling block. I appreciate the information. My local dealer told me they are not available BUT considering how many of the these carbs there are out there, I found that hard to believe!

My signature has a link to a carb rebuild tutorial you may find helpful.

I don't know how to tell you this gently, so I will just say it.

To do a "good deep cleaning" of your carbs, YOUR JETS HAVE TO BE REMOVED, along with all the other stuff, so you can follow the directions in Nessism's guide that he just pointed out in his signature.

Those rubber plugs are available, replaced mine when I rebuilt the carbs. Sometimes you have to go to a later year model with the same carbs to get some parts. For example: the rubber cover over the choke assembly, on a 80 model fiche, they don't show that part anymore, go to about an 83 they do. You just got to do some research at times.

Here ya go! And yes, all the previous comments are correct. You MUST completely strip the carbs to clean, replace o-rings, and make sure everything is where it needs to be.

I know the carbs have to be completely disassembled, I just meant that the jets can be reused.I have them all apart and soaking right now. Those pesky rubber plugs are the only thing my dealers says he could not get. I have since gone to a differnt dealer and he ordered them for me.
