If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

After reading many pages of search info on ignitors I had determined that mine was not one that I could get a Dyna S for so ordered the one from our local Suzuki dealer in the town nearby. I had only found one post from a guy who had a 650 like mine and he said that they are not available as he had emailed Dyna and was told "sorry but N/A

After I ordered mine for $444.56 I got on te general discussion site and commented about it $$ on the discussion page. One of the people who responded told me I could have saved a lot of money by going Dyna S.

Being the kind of fellow I am I decided to see if I really could have gotten one for my bike, and the posts I had read earlier was bogus info...following is the copy of my email to and from them..

Hello

I learned about Dyna Tek from the GS Resources Suzuki motorcycle website.

My question is this .Can the opriginal ignition system on my 1981 GS650G be replaced with/by one of yours? >From the tests I haved done and what I can determine the ignitor has stopped working on 2 of the cylinders.

I read somewhere on several posts that you do not make an ignition replacement system for my bike, then after ordering one from the local Suzuki dealer I read another place that you do..can you advise please?

Dear John,

Thank you for your interest in Dynatek ignitions. Unfortunately, we do not offer an ignition system for this model at this time. As I understand it, the plate will not fit the 650 engine. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us anytime.

Sincerely,

I can't comment on whether a Dyna kit will work (don't see why not based on what I'm about to say), but I do know that a manual advancer and points plate will fit. When I got my GS650GL parts bike, it had a mnual advancer and points plate on it. I've since sold them, but as far as I know, they're pretty much interchangeable between models.

Sounds like Dyna simply hasn't tested one.

Dyna III High Performance Electronic Ignition (ND)

I found this one at Dennis Kirk. Shop around you may get a better price. I also have a 81 GS650GX, I replaced the ignition module with an OEM unit about 6 years ago ... cost me roughly $450.00.

I also need to replace the ignitor on my 81 GS650G, and have also read that the Dyna S will work.
Now, on this forum I read that the Dyna III is the proper substitute.
When I went to the website they are 2 different units.
Which one is the proper replacement.
Thanks for any help.
