A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I really like what you have done with it.

If I had to look at it with a supercritical eye, then for my tastes I'd try to do something about that brake reservoir and the rearsets. Although functional they both look slightly out of place in these photos with the lines and colours. They might look different in person.

For the rearsets, it's just the guide/protection piece sticking up that throws it off for me. Maybe you could get it to blend in by painting that part of it black? Of course, nobody is going to see it when you are riding, it's just the standing there looking good part being affected (to my eye).

Do you have any plans to move the battery up into the tail cowling?

No plans to move the battery as of yet. I can live with a slightly messing center triangle. Much better that than an ass on fire. (referring to the charging gremlins these gs's often encounter)

As for the rearsets, my eventual plan is to pull the forks and powdercoate them black, and have the rearsets powdercoated the same, but as of right now, I'm just enjoying finally riding the thing again.

What is the front end off of and what did you have to do to make it work?

Eric

It's off an '03 CBR954RR. All you need to make it fit is a different top bearing which is fairing common on GSXR's I believe. Although I bought the whole front end complete, so I didn't have to worry about making the gs wheel work.

The seat is finished! Super comfy, finish is wonderful, couldn't be happier. If you're in the Tulsa area (doubtful), shoot me a PM and I'll give you this guy's info.

I don't think I'd want a cafe racer but this is the way it's supposed to look in my mind. Sure with the jerks who own sawzall's would see this before they start ruining their bikes.

Good job.

Bars

Bars

Can you post some close ups of your handle bars? I like how they look. Interested in seeing how they are mounted. Thanks a lot

They're just the stock 954 clip ons. They have about 3 inches of rise in them.

Once again nice bike!

Could you elaborate more on what seat you used and how you mounted it?
Also where did you get the taillights? Did you have to cut the frame at all to make the seat or tail lights fit?

Sorry for all the questions but I am new to modifying my bike and yours is beautiful :D

Thanks for any help

Can you still turn full lock w/o having the frok tube hitting the gas tank?

How is the bike coming?

I am trying to get some more information on a seat for my 650E. Do you know the exact model of seat? I know its from Roc city.

Also are those both the tail lights and blinkers?

Well, its been a while, and I'm actually selling the ol GS. It runs great and all, but I'm just getting the itch for something newer. Its been a hell of a ride.
