So I bought this bike recently and found that the fuse box had been previously tampered with. all the fuses were 15's and the main was 20 and the main one was melted and so was the slot.
I bought and installed a new fuse box. In the haynes manual it says that all the fuses should be 10 and the main 15 but this fuse box I ordered from bike bandit had 10s in it and the main was 20, and the lil numbers above the slot said 20. So I ran it last night with all 10s and a 20 main and the headlight fuse blew twice. Like the second I had the brake and turn signals going simultaneously the fuse blew and the headlights/turn signals/instumentation all stopped working.
I put a 15 in the headlight slot and it has yet to blow but I don't want to have a melted to crap fusebox like the last one.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Should I try running the bike with a 15 in the main instead of the 20 and put a 10 back in the headlight slot? Should I crack open the headlight and check the wiring?
Thanks all,
Mike
