A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I'm having trouble getting the clutch cover oil seal on. It took forever to get the old gasket off. It came off in pieces . I bought Suzuki part number 0928512002. It just won't fit, I've tried heating it up but it honestly looks like it's just not the right fit. Several sites say that part number 0928512002 has been "superceded" by part number 0928512006.
http://www.cmsnl.com/products/seal-oil12x22x9_0928512006/
should I buy the superseded part or is this even the right part.

i even tried taking the clutch cover off since the diagram I saw made it look like it might be accessible from the inside. However it's built in to the clutch cover so this part HAS to be pushed on from the top.
any tricks to this?

It looks like the superceeded part is the same as the old number measuring 12x22x9
to check measure the outer diameter of the hole in the cover it should be 22mm measure the depth 9mm and the shaft size should be 12 mm
see if you can find something that is just under 22mm od maybe a socket you should be able to tap in the new seal.

If the outside hole in the cover is supposed to be 9 mm I don't think I have nearly all the old rubber out, I've tried picks, grinded down nails, a small knife, etc. is there some kind of solution that will eat up the old rubber in there?

Just to clarify the depth of the hole for the seal should be 9mm if there is rubber still left in there then perhaps a quick flash of heat will destroy the rubber and allow you to pick it out, how deep does the hole measure now?

Well I finally got this figured out. My issue was I didnt realize that the oilseal had a metal ring inside it. I thought my new seal was going to have to fit over that inner metal ring and inside the outer metal edge. I didn't realize I was cleaning the old rubber off the old metal ring. After a few minutes with the heat gun the whole thing finally came off and I realized that metal ring was actually the old seal. Thanks for your help.IMG_0355.jpg
