A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

well this is my first inline4 bike. so I had carb leaking issues that has been resolved temporally but tapping on the carbs. but it doesn't sound like its firing on all 4 revs to about 6500ish and breaks up. the is a breather type hole in the top of the head/intake where hot steam/air comes out of???? is there supposed to be a breather plug of some sort in there???

any and all info will be appreciated

It's a breather hose that should connect the top of the valve cover to the air box. If it's the same as my 81 GS750, it's 11mm, which is just a touch less than 7/16.

Other than that, a carb rebuild is in you immediate future. I recently had similar symptoms (one cylinder not firing) and it was because of a sticking float needle.

Feel which pipe is cold and take off the bowl screw to see if it's getting gas. Check the spark etc. -- go thru the usual flow to see what the problem is.

Here's the hose routing:

And here's the carb rebuild tutorials:

Lots of good stuff here, welcome to the site!

no airbox going with pods. what should I do with that breather hole on the motor and I pulled the plugs and 1 and 3 were black and 2 and 4 were white. it has a caf? race exhaust what jetting should I go with

Hard to tune it from here. You will need to do it yourself.

It will be easier if you do all of the other neglected engine mintenance first.

so it is confirmed the white plugs the pipes we way cooler than the other pipes. any idea on jetting on this bike pods and 4to1 pipe with race can. stock otherwise and stock carb's bs32ss. and any tips on tuning a cv carb with individual pods as they usually run best with a airbox of sorts. however that is not an option. because the mounts are deleted and the box is incognito. any body know a great wheelie highway sprocket combo it seems very rev happy like tops out rather quickly. on two cylinders it goes 55 at 5500 rpm and it tops at 11000 rpm seems like ill only get 80ish out of it. any and all help wil be greatly appreciated

st.3 jet kit and good filters is the only cure unless you go back to an air box.
let me guess....you have the chrome cone air filters?
