A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Being a 650g owner, I think I can judge that to be one fine bike. Do you know what that front fender is off of? It looks just like mine chrome fender.

Thanks everyone, could not have finished without the forum.

The fender is off a 1982 gs 650L I believe. Doesn't fit perfect, but works after drilling new mount holes and gentle persuasion.

That turned out really nice I like the paint scheme and the white around the instrument clusters you did. I would be proud to ride that around. Merry Christmas

That is the best use of an L tank I've ever seen! Keep working at it, you're on a good path. The bike is going to look really good when you're done!

Awesome news! Really good to see a project come to a successful end :D

That's like a Christmas present to yourself too :D

nice build, like the led rear tail, does it have intergraded blinkers?

where'd ya get it :)

Bravo!
When I saw the first pics of the "L" tank tail, I had my doubts, but you pulled it off very well. Nice job!

The tail light does have intergrated blinker, running and brake light. I got it off ebay, chinese special for around $30 shipped. I like it a lot.

Mop, what type and size tires are on your bike? They look good.

They are shinko tourmaster tires and the sizes are as follows. The front is 100/90 19 and the rear is 130/90 17.

Night Lights

It was dark when I went home tonight, so I turned on the lights.

I have done a couple things since my last post. First I redid the tank since there was a failed liner and it kept clogging my carbs. So, I added more bondo to get a more custom, one-of-a-kind look. The difference is subtle, but I love it.

Next, the suspension was way too soft. I added progressive springs to the front. I loved the results and felt like a whole new bike. Unfortunetaly, I could really tell how bad the rear shocks were. I added Harley touring shocks and could not be happier. I like the look and love the ride. Oh, cheap too!

It really looks nice! Love the color scheme, tank pads, and handle bars. Do you know what your chrome front fender is off of? I have one which I think is the same, but have know idea what it came off of.

The fender is off a GS650L 81 if I remember correctly. I did have to drill new holes for it to fit right.
