A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi tGSR
I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that would have a set of crash guards in stock for my bike, all I can find on ebay and other places is crash bars for the Gs`1100 shaft drive. Also anyone know what years will fit my bike>?Any help would be great..Thanks

Pretty much the only ones that fit are the ones made specifically for the '82-'83 GS1100E.

I searched all over and found some in Canada, I'll have to see if I still have the information on them. Hopefully they will have more, at the time they had the chrome AND the black, I bought chrome for my '82 but I'm sure you'd want the black for your '83.

It might take me a couple days to track down the info, but also to let you know I believe it cost me around $120 total which included shipping.

I think they look great!

Def nice looking..hope to get the same look.....alot better than the "Chips"style on ebay....

I happened to spot these today...NOS case guards for an '80 GS11OOE. Not sure if they would bolt on to the 82/83 without issues....maybe someone with both models can tell. Probably better to bide your time and snag a nice black set though....they do come up every few weeks. I got a brand new (old) set made by KG, that ended up costing around $100 with shipping from the U.S.

I looked through my e-mail and according to that I bought the guards in November of '08 and bought them through an E-bay member by the name of atyourservice33 out of Ontario Canada but unfortunately I checked and it shows that they are no longer a registered E-bay member.

Also according to the listing headline, it showed "ENGINE GUARD SUZUKI GS1100 & E 80-83 CHROME BRAND NEW!", so with this in mind, I guess that they will fit all four years.

Years ago when I bought my first '82, a friend had an '80 he had bought some guards exactly like the ones I have from Suzuki made for the model year '82 and they did not fit so he had to re-drill the middle mount hole in order to make them fit, after that particular '82 was stolen I bought his '80 and never changed those guards. If you buy some that have only two mount points, I would feel comfortable in saying they would fit but if they are a three way mount I would only buy them if the seller would guarantee that they will fit an '82-'83 "E".
