Took it for a ride this morning, i probably shouldnt have with the wisdom teeth thing and all, but i seem to be having some carby issues with it, after i turn it off and let it sit for afew minutes when i fire it back up it acts as if its getting to much fuel. If i lower the carbys down with some pressure the revs change and if i raise them the revs change as well. I'm abit over it at the moment. As i dont really want to pull the carbs out yet again because its a pain in the butt and there isnt much room to move in there.

Bugger about the carb issues, hope the wisdom teeth heal up quickly, sorry but there is nly one thing for it.....yep, they have to come off, like it or not.
If the revs are changing when you lift or push down the carbs, you have an air leak, most probabaly at the intake boots, and by moving the carbs, you are opening or closing the gap where the air is getting through and this is causing your issues.

Yeah, carbs gotta come off by the sounds... at least the wisdom teeth are out now!

Totally forgot to ask how the second lot went...

the pain of a night and a morning is a bitch, was up 5 times during the night to swap cold packs, but they are out.. finally. 10 needles later and i still felt the whole thing on the bottom.

teeth for sure, i've only got 2 carbs to deal with glad i dont have 4!

I got bored today so had a play,

The Girlfriend says this looks abit wankey... lol

Pic Below:This is the bike as it sits now, nothing pretty by any means. I've taken the passenger foot pegs off including the alloy bracket and yes i'm embarrassed to take it out in this condition. The side covers are hanging up in the garage half painted and my home made headlight fairing is waiting for paint too.

I would really like to strip the bike down and repaint the lot but i would be doing it on a very tight budget so it might take a while, once its a real project this thread might become more than the Woodsy, Pete & Mike show lol.

And what's wrong with the Woodsy, Pete, and Mike show hey? Us Aussie twin owners gotta a stick together! Haha

It'd look better all painted up, but I reckon it's a cool idea....

But now I'm logging off, MotoGP time :D

I think we must be the only 3 in Aus with them?.... lol

Here is my list so far,

Refoam Stock Seat and re cover with a different profile to standard
- Or replace seat with cafe style
Paint Engine & Exhaust
Paint Tank and rear tail
Paint frame
Make a new Chain Guard
Paint Wheels and Polish
Maybe go to Pod Filters
- Remove side covers
- Hide Electrics & Battery

Thats all i can think of for now, i think getting all of that done will tidy it up dramatically.

I found someone that can do a refoam & recover pretty cheaply (well under 200) I'll dig up their details and pass them across your way if you like.

Nothing wrong with the Mike Woody & Pete show. The only active 3 Aussies i can think of on the east coast and we've not got 1000cc's between us :dancing:. 3 restores and all taking very different directions.

I might dig through my box of spares and see what i've got. I have a few things that are later model gsx only that won't work with my bike that you are welcome to if you like.

Josh, sounds like a plan! I'd just do the seat reshape I think, I'm not sure a cafe seat would sit right with the tank... need to photoshop it :)

Mike, we certainly are going in different directions! It'll be interesting to see how we all end up for sure...

I've been quoted $80 to get the seat recovered and refoamed through a mob in Sydney, I think the back part of the seat just sits up way to high and fat plus i will never have a passenger on it... i mean come on... its a 250 lol

Your help is Much appreciated Fellas!

whoa whoa whoa... hang on... when did it become the MIKE, Woodsy and Pete show?.... haha

$80? Awesome!

And Woody? What, you mean you can't even spell your own name now? :p

I think its only that cheap because i've lent him something to get a template from.

What you talking about Pete?............. lol

Here is something i knocked up quickly complete black paint with white line, white suzuki sticker on the tank and also the cut down seat.

I also did one of it with a shorter seat with the standard tank and it doesnt suit it at all.

Interesting... just slimming that seat down will make a huge difference!

And yeah I'm not fussed on the second one... too short and stumpy...

Woodsy, I think that idea will look awesome, I like it a lot, the black and wite is understated yet striking, I would run the white stripe over the front mud guard as well, unless you already planned to do that.
The Suzuki on the tank, doesn't do it for me thoug, but that my just be the font, I think it will fit right in when done in the proper Suzuki font.
Keep it up.
