I just bought a well used 550 that was running up to last year. Since I have had it in my garage, I have found that it needs a few things, now so bad...I knew this going into the deal. But I have found that the engine will not start. I can get it to fire off, but it will not stay running long. I have had the carb apart now twice to make sure that tie parts are all there and it seems that there are no obstructions that I can see. They are the Muniki twin two barrel carbs....really simple carbs from what I can see so whats the trick? to get the thing to fire off I have to basically choke it with my hand , itll fire then die....
it acts like its having trouble drafting fuel from the bowls...
also I need to find a fuel valve assy for the tank and a starter relay....
any help will be greatly appreciated.
(I originally had this posted in the wrong area, but it was said to re attach the air box....is it necessary to have the boots from the carbs to the aircleaner attached to have it run? I am sorry if this sounds stupid, but I have been in the military for the last 20 years, I have no knowledge of this bike and how these cv carbs work........)
