DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Ok im lazy. but on a GS1000st what carb to head rubbers and carb to airbox rubbers can i use/order from sudco. Remember in aus we had the slide carbs and not the CV carbs. Want to fit mikuni 33s to it. Found this in Sudco latest cattledog, sort of can works out the front ones. harder to find info on the airbox boots, thanks

I measured all 4 sets of carbs that go on the GS 1000.
The list gives the outer diameters on both sides of the carbs, cylinder head side first, airbox second.
GS 1000 EC, VM 26 : 34 mm, 43 mm
GS 1000 SN, VM 28 : 34 mm, 43 mm
GS 1000 ST, VM 30 : 37.5 mm, 49 mm
GS 1000 ET, BS 32 : 42 mm, 55 mm

Looking at the numbers, I doubt you'll find what you need?
I heard of a guy who mounted CR carbs on a GS 1000 ST with Kawasaki intakes.
I believe Dynoman provided the goods ( http://www.dynoman.net/).

May I interject?
When I had 33's smoothies on my Kat, the spigots were the same as the 34mm CV carbs. So, wouldn't the stock, CV carb manifolds work? But then, maybe, you need the CV head as well? The ports would be bigger. I will need to look in my Sudco catalog to be certain. Maybe check the center to center bolt spacing and start from there?

gmansyz is correct. If you are going to use the 33 smoothies, you should be running the large-port heads as well. (34 mm port)
Jamming 33 mm's into a 28.4 mm port is not going to help any performance anyhow.
Some people are foolish enough to purchase some kind of adapter manifold just for the bragging rights.
OTOH, if you already have the large port heads, they will bolt up to the 34CV (or is it 32CV?) carb manifolds with no problems. ;)

16 valve heads (kats. GSX/GS1100) have differant mainfolds compared to 8valve heads (GS1000). My bike had 33's from 2,500klms as i helped the original owner mod it but when i brought it the 33's went missing ( dont u love druggie mates) hence it has 29 smoothies on it now and somehow the front rubbers are too small and i brought a brand new airbox when i rebuilt it 14 yrs ago and and dont recall where the standard airbox is. hence i thought someone might know the parts numbers for suitable airbox and rubbers. As they might have 33's on there 8 valve with standard airbox Thanks

I traded a set of 33s for a set of 29s. Maybe others can get the 33s to idle but I never could. They are extremly annoying in every day riding but do run good. As far as peformance I couldnt feel any major difference, maybe a dyno could except the 29s have more torque and the 33s maybe a touch more wide open. This was on my street built 1105 KZ, mild head work, bolt in cams, 10.25 compression, 4-1 kerker. They do go in stock 34cv manifolds

I had 33 Keihin CR's on my latest acquesition and immidiately took them off once I found out that it had stock cams to go with the stock exhaust.
It even had the correct manifolds. I would have been a waste to leave them on it.
They will probably find their way onto one of my 4-valve 1100E motors if the 36 CV's don't work well enough.
