A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Looking for a 4into1 solution with a great sound for my '78 GS 750E. I see offerings by MAC, Vance Hines and Marshall Deeptone (Jama) but I have almost no feeling for how they sound. I absolutely need to keep the center stand so any option that forces it's removal is out. Any thoughts?

I've had experience with 3 different systems. My first gs- an 831100e came with a mac canister system. it sounded decent, but the baffle was quite restrictive, with openings the size of a nickel. I removed it for a quick jaunt, and experienced a noticeable increase in bottom end power- and noise. i ended up making my own straight thru type of baffle, that sounded great and was acceptably loud. Quality wasn't great, and by the time i got the bike the pipes were rusty. My next gs -85 1150e came with a sexy Yoshimura full system that looked and sounded great. My current gs - 1150es came with a Vance & Hines megaphone. It sounded good, but not as good as the Yoshi, plus i had a big problem with it: it was a megaphone, which i detest. All 3 allowed the use of the center stand. Ultimately i swapped the Yoshi system onto my current ride before selling the e.

I put a yoshi on my gs 850, and holy man does it sound awesome. Has a pure sportbike sound and i love it. If you can find one buy it.

I have the V&H 4-1. The pipe came on the bike. It was so rusty that I painted it flat black. It looks acceptable. I wrap the baffle with the heavy glass wrap. It is quiet until you open it up. It has a nice growl when you do, can't compete with the Yoshi and the likes, but it isn't bad either. The price was right on my pipe. I'm sure you can find something on YouTube to give you an idea of the sound If you can find one that runs right.

Of your 3 choices, I suggest the V&H. Although the Macs are readily available and probably less expensive, there have been issues regarding quality and sound. The Yoshis, while having a good reputation, are no longer available unless you stumble upon one laying around somewhere.
You would have to check with each to see if the center stand can be retained.

Ahhh, Billy, Billy, Billy . . . .

I have the V-H and it does not interfere with the center stand. It also has a nice sound to it. Much throatier than the stock exhaust, but not obnoxious or super loud like open pipes, H-Ds etc.

I have a Marvin' on my 1000, the sound fantastic, not too loud but more than enough throat, especially when you wind it up. Like it a lot more than the V&H. There is a shop in Idaho that sells them, around $350 or so. Does not interfer with the centre stand at all.
