DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So, it seems that my sidecar motor has a 16T 520 front sprocket. Yes, a 520 front sprocket. It appears that the current sprocket was a 530 that was ground down.

The rear sprocket is a 46T that fits a "Buell HD XB9R XB12R 520 Conv, 1125R 827A-46"

Does anyone know if of anyone that makes 520 sprocket for a 1980 GS750? I'd rather do this than buy a new chain and rear sprocket.

Or, does anyone know how to find what other bikes use the Buell bolt pattern?

sorry - a new front sprocket. The rear sprocket is a vortex 827a-46 520 sprocket for a 1995-2002 Buell HD XB9R XB12R 1125R 520 conversion.

Option 1 is get a 520 front sprocket. I have a 17T and 18T 530 front sprocket that I bought in error.

Option 2 is get a new 530 chain and a new 530 rear sprocket.

cheapest option would be to get a 520 front sprocket.
was 520 fitted for a reason, like clearance issues?

did a quick search on the JT Sprockets P/N JTF513.17 sprocket I got from Z1 and discovered what other bikes use that sprocket. Did a quick cross search and a JTF512 is the right 520 front sprocket. {phew}

If it ground down the counter shaft sprocket then your chain is wasted also and will soon destroy your rear and new countershaft sprockets as well so be ready to buy some new sprockets and a new chain soon. They will not last very much longer.

not quite. The rear sprocket is a vortex 827a-46 520 sprocket for Buell. I wanted to go to a 17T front and that is when I discovered all the other modifications.

I'm going to get a JT Sprockets JTF512.17 front sprocket and all will be well.

In case anyone is interested, to use 520 sprockets you need:

JT Sprockets JTF512 series front sprockets and two (2) 1.25mm washers. Z-1 sells the spacers (p/n SS-3) and will special order the sprockets.

The JT Sprockets 512 sprockets don't have the lip on the outside that the stock sprockets have. To have the identical spacing, etc you need one washer on the inside and one on the outside.
