A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

650L will not start.

In an earlier post, i thought it might be the timing, but im not sure. Here is the situation. A while ago my starter stopped working, so i pulled the carbs, the airbox(forward half that is) the cam chain tensioner and the cover that covers the starter, i got that problem fixed. I did take the side cover off obviously. Well now it cranks, but wont start. The carbs appear to be clean inside. The petcock is working, but on the tank there is a place for a line on a gold colored piece, just to the front of the petcock. Also my gas gauge doesnt work anymore, where are the 2 plugs that it goes into, where is the other end of them that is. I thought i found them but i plug them in and it wont work. Im confused. If anyone could push me in the right direction that would be great.

the is a second line that runs to the petcock, it comes off the second carb upto the other spigot you mention, this line supplies vacuum so the petcock will flow fuel, with out it you will not get fuel flow so the bike wont start.

It seems few of the gas gauges work any more. Mine doesn't.

My petcock does flow fuel. Only the big fuel line and the vaccuum going to the petcock are hooked up. THere is a 3rd spot for a line not on the petcock. My gauge worked before i messed with it

3rd line is vent for the fuel guage. The gold part on the tank is the fuel gauge, has the vent tube and 2 wires (yellow and black, I think) that make the gauge on the cluster work.
