DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I currently have a 1982 750E bought new. This winter I am pulling it apart and giving her a thorough once over. I'm going to do some minor upgrades at the same time and would like to know if 1982 1100E rims and tires would fit as a handling / ride upgrade? If I have thought this out, the 750 rims are 3.25x19 F and 4.00x18 R. The 1100 I think has 3.50x19F and 4.50x18 R. Will this minor increase cause any problems with any clearances?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Are you sure about those rim widths? I don't know of any GS models that had stock widths that big. Sounds more like tire widths.

I have to agree with Billy I think you have the wrong measurements for your rims. I have an 83 GS1100GK and the rims are Front Rim Size: 2.15x19 | Rear Rim Size: 2.75x16 I wish they were the size you are saying, then we could really put some rubber on the road.

You gents are correct in that the sizes I stated are tire size not rim width. Has anyone put larger rims / tires on a 750E?
Thanks again!

I'm running a GSXR front end with a 3.5"X17" rim and a 120/70 tire. On the back I've got a 4.5" GSXR rim with a 160 mounted.

The 1100 front rim is the same size as the 750 but the rear has a 17 instead of an 18". I have 83 1100 rims on right now with 100/90-19 and 140/80-17 Bridgestone tires which work well.
