My otherwise rockin' 1978 GS1000 is running rich. Really rich judging by the plugs and the way it acts. I just picked it up Friday and the previous owner did say he thought the mechanic who "got it running right" had jetted it rich. I have a manual on order but in the meantime...
what are the stock jet sizes?
Are all four the same or are 1/4 different from 2/3?
I pulled the carbs out and found 125's on 1/4 and 127.5's on 2/3. Not knowing what stock is I don't know if that's wildly out of line or if I only need a couple sizes smaller. FWIW I've got K&N pods and a 4-1 Kerker megaphone exhaust.
I should also add that I'm deliriously happy to have picked a bike with such a dedicated group of users. Egads, whatever did people do before the internet anyway?
