DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi there! I have a 80 GS1100E I bought it this year It had 38000KM and lots of power!!! SWEET POWER now I have 47000KM on it and It dosn't have the power get up and go that is and a slight vibration from the engine at cruising speed 3800RPM. I was wondering if it could just use a carb sync! or dose any one have any insight!! any help would be great thanks I LOVE THIS Bike!!! :? :? :?

May just need a full tune, valve clearence's, clean air fliter, check for air leak's between the carby's and head, spark plug's, then a carb sync.
In that order.
My bet is that's all you will need, but if the problem still remain's there's plenty of 1100 guy's here that can point you in the right direction.

I would start with a compression test & valve adjustment

I just ran a tank with carb cleaner in it on the highway the bike runs alot better!! how often should a guy put a carb kit in??

Never mind the carb kit, just ride to BC and back once a year. That'll tune it(and you) up!

I would love to ride out to BC just don't have the time in the summer lots of weekend trips though! I have 9000KM this summer

The 80 GS1100s have a pressed on crank, depending how hard you rev and ride the engine, some where known to slip and cause some vides and the timing to change some. Check out the other things list by the other readers plus this. the only cure for the crank is to break down the engine have the crank trued and the end welded.
