    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Howdy all,

I installed an SH775 R/R in my GS1100EX. But I can't figure out where to mount it. Search found lots of mounting discussion but nothing for my bike. I'm not sure if I should try and mount it under the frame between the fuel tank and carbs or if I should try to make a mounting setup the steak the R/R and fuse box where they currently are.

Any thoughts?

It won't fit where the stock RR was? That is where I mounted my Compufire, was a tight fit and had to shave down a couple of the cooling fins just a touch.
 
Here is my mockup. The SH775 with connectors is twice the size of the Compufire. This bike has Dyna S ignition so the Ignitor spot was free.
Plenty of room for the connectors and airbox.

I'll have to see what I can do, that looks interesting. I'll need a spot for relay mod too so that might open up a spot in the original plate for it.
 
They must mount differently for the E. Mine bolted right up to where the old one was.
 
I had an exact same issue (where to locate the SH775) with my 83 GS1100ES.
I ended up moving fuse box to the right as much as possible to open up the space for SH775.
In addition, I moved the starter solenoid to the right by 1/8" by widening the mounting holes, pick up another 1/8" by shaving off protrusion on the side of the fuse box.
Now, SH775 fits with enough margin on all sides.

I've been looking at that too. MY fuse box has big ears on either side right in the middle. So it is harder to move but I've thought about getting a new one that would have blade fuses.
