A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Been looking at Exhaust options for my 81 1100EX.. Not much to choose from. I currently have a blued and rusty Vance and Hines 4/1. The quality of those pipes is kinda like china/taiwan. I saw a Mac 4/2 pipe with megaphones on Ebay, that looked nice, and the chrome looked good. My question is, has anyone used this? How is the quality of chrome on a Mac? I just dont want to spend 350 and have blue pipes in 10 miles, even after spraying the insides with ceramic paint.. Are there any other options as far as pipes for these bikes? It seems all they want to do is make cruiser/ crotch rocket pipes anymore.. Sorry im so long winded...Will

The pipes are likely blue because you did not rejet. The pods have more impact and just changing the pipes might be passable for a while but I have seen many bluepipes from owners that likely swapped the pipe and did not richen the mixture (i.e. rejet). If you search you can probably get where you should be with a pipe change only.

BTW MAC is generally considered inferior in terms of finish (i.e. the chrome ones).

I bought the bike like this, i have no idea what jets are in it - i guess i should look into that. I have the stock air box, no pods

if your intrested i will be selling a V+H chrome 4 into one it has been on the bike for about 500km but will no longer work with the gsxr susp. There is one tube slightly flattened on the bottom but not visible from the side. Gimme 150 plus shipping and it,s yours

I think the general consensus (from comments I have heard) is that V&H is superior to MAC (which is basically the bottom of the barrel). Any single walled pipe will blue if the jetting is off. The pipes on my G are blue on 1&4 and gold on 2&3 from the process of getting the carbs dialed in. I have some blue remover I'm going to try at some point now that I think I have the jetting correct.
