A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The video sounds louder than the bike really is. I had to crank it a million times to start it the first time, but after warming up it starts immediately.

Now for the fun part- making it run right. i know this will be a bear because i messed with the intake and exhaust so much, but it's heartening that it idles well right now.

Ordered float bowl gaskets, petcock rebuild, and k&n filters (the same ones D-Mac used on his build).

I have fuel leaks everywhere right now, so tuning is on hold until the stuff shows up.

Did I mention all the wiring is new now? modern reg/rec, inline fuses and aftermarket switches.

This is an awesome build! I'm going to do my best to try to duplicate what you did with your seat.

thanks!

the stuff showed up. filters fit really nice. wiring is still kinda hanging around.

now it does!

Chicago winter in the 30s and still no accumulation on the ground... so maybe "finishing" this bike on Saturday?

The only real outstanding tasks are adding tabs to bolt the exhaust securely to the frame, and tuning the carbs. The first should be fairly simple, the second, maybe not so much?

I'd really like to make this thing a rider so i can start rebuilding the top end on my current cb750 daily rider.

still not quite ready, but getting there. taking these air filters off and on sucks, and i'm getting the feeling that it will happen a few more times.

Carbs are tuned enough to ride around. Picked up a licence plate this morning!

Ira, happy I stumbled across your post again!

Couldn't remember where I saw the relocated ignition.
Do you have some more detail on that please?

ie: where did you buy it from, how did the wiring work, etc?
We want to do something similar on my brother-in-law's bike.

Thanx!

Hey, great thread, loving the bike.

I am thinking of getting the same filters or just using stacks, I don't see myself doing much mileage so not sure that I am actually going to go for filters
