DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anybody know offhand:

Will an '81 750e tank fit directly to an '81 750L frame? And, if so, does that mean an '81 1100e tank would also be a direct fit?

I believe the only tank that fits an L frame is an L tank. Others can be made to fit by moving mounts and rewelding but then your L seat won't fit without modifying it as well.

Well, so much for the easy route.Would anyone be able to tell me the pertinent measurements of an "e" tank, so I can assess just how big a job that would be? Thanks in advance :D

Do not know if it is the same with the E models, But not all L model tanks are the same.

i just put a "B" tank on my L... pretty much work to fit the tank nicely. Reposition the front mount more to the front and the rear mount more to the back, do some shaping on the inside of the tank to go over the frame and it worked. But as i said.... lots of work :(

I don't have experience with the 750 but I can tell you about the 550. I have an L and bought an E tank, the frame neck has the hole drilled in both spots for the front mount and the rear bolts (two and they lay flat, its not a center mount) fit both tanks. YMMV.

Been barking up that tree for along time and have tried many tanks... Nothing fits directly. I just gave up and roll with my 1.9 gl before reserve tank. Although Tkent will disagree strongly but I love the look of my L tank. It's a tad more revealing AMD makes that 750 look a little bigger.. lol. I Still tour whith it just pulling over every 100 miles does get kinda annoying, yet my 1150ES tank isnt much bigger...
