If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

hello , i am wanting to source a fuel gauge sender unit and fuel drain plate for the above bike . where in the world should i start looking ???

or if i cant find one i want to just blank off the opening where the sender would be fitted .( the petcock has a reserve unlike the 19 litre tank .

i am guessing that many fuel gauge sender units will be the same so far as the five screws spacings that hold / seal the unit in the side of the tank , and many gs/gsx models will have the same unit so far mounting in the side of the tank ???

also can someone tell me how the electrical side of the sender unit works , will a sender unit from another gs/gsx model be accurate or do i need the specific 24 litre tank sender unit for the fuel gauge to indicate accurately ?

ps i am having the 24 litre tank and the 19 litre tank painted the same white as my 08 xjr1300 .... with green coloured graphics supplied by John at www.sunrisegraphics.co.uk .

for me the gsx1100et and ex engines are the best looking motorcycle engines i have ever seen and the gsx 24 litre tank is the best looking motorcycle tank i have ever seen !!!

even before i have the gsx paint/graphics the way i want them the gsx and 81 gs1000g ( blue ) look magnificent parked beside each other in my motorcycle garage which is now full with seven motorcycles .

i now feel my life is complete and i can die with a smile of satisfaction on my face . i have wanted a 1980/1981 gsx1100 for about 25 years ever since i found out the engine was strong and durable , that is why i bought the gs new in 81 , because the gs engine was proven but i was not sure about the gsx reputation . sorry for the ramblings !

thanks for your help and the wonderful website resource .

regards from mark .

I'd start online by checking to see if any of your dealers there have a parts fiche that shows the big tank and what the part number for it is.

That's a version we didn't get here in the states

If the numbers match, check the Parts For Sale forum

i have been to the suzuki dealer , they said the 24 litre sender unit and fuel drain plate are no longer stocked by suzuki .

i have a gsx1100et and ex parts book given to me by the PO .

The gsx1100et 19 litre fuel gauge sender # is 34810-49200

24 litre sender 34810-49210

the ex 19 litre sender 34810-49201

the ex 24 litre sender34810-49211

the et fuel drain plate # is 34885-49002 ... this # may well be superceeded to 34885-49005 ?

the ex fuel drain plate 34885-49005

please explain ... if the part numbers match check the parts for sale forum .

There's over 30 forums in the GSR - scroll down to Parts for Sale

Some of the parts for the 24L are the same, one is different
