A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Don't apologise for picture overload, I love before and after pics. It shows the amount of work and care thats gone into the project.

Nice bike all round. does this mean it's finished now?

Thanks Cyrano! Well, I would say 98% complete, still a few things to do...the last stage was a rush just to get it rideable to test...so, I'll keep posting with more progress.

Holy crap! Amazing job.

Did you ever source the connector you needed?

If not, this place may have what you need: http://cycleterminal.com/

May I ask what handlebars you are using? My 850G is a mini-version of your bike...I love how your bars look.

All around great job. I'll be coming back to this thread for inspiration. I gotta clean up my exhaust. Steel wool, here I come. :)

You're making me look lazy! It looks great! Have you ridden it yet? They will stretch your arms.

Great job and the bike looks phenomenal! Love the polish (before/after) pics.

Ha, thank you Growler...I haven't found that connector set yet, i asked a few places but no joy as of yet..I will try that link tonight, so thanks for that. I believe they are the stock handlebars that come with the bike. When I studied the original press photos, they appear to be the same in reach and length. Oh, and don't use steel wool on anything! especially your pipes...I used nothing but aluminum foil and water on all my pipes, got rid of most of the rust (apart from the underneath...you won't see those pics...lol)

Haha...never, thanks, I took it for a solid ride this afternoon...it was amazing, so different to my 850, and a lot different from before I restored it!

Well shoot, I'm glad I saw this thread. I was directed to use steel wool in this other thread.

From the looks of your exhaust, I may just try your method instead. ;)
