A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

First, if he told you that he is, umm, confused. Those carbs are set for your exact engine.
Second, please explain what you mean by installing a kit and how you went about it.
Thanks.

On top of the Kids post, my I also suggest that either your float settings are off, your float needle and or seat, are not doing their jobs, and thirdly...your petcock isn't working, either.

OH, bythe way.. WELCOME to the GSR. There are a lot of VERY bright bulbs in here. Suggestions should be seen more as must-do's...

Hard to tell from that picture. It does say "you'll get the right kit", but please tell me that you didn't pay $46 bucks a piece, for that "kit".

Does the bike leak fuel just sitting on the center stand and NOT running?

If so...where from?

yea i did :(bought 4 of then

the gas only comes from the hose when running

I recommend you rebuild the carbs again, using the tutorial linked in my signature. I'd reuse as many of the original real Mikuni jets as possible. A Cycleorings.com kit is highly recommended.

Good luck

Yup. Pull all the metal parts off. Get a cycleorings kit. Get a set of fuel bowl gaskets. Using Nessism's tutorial on BassCliff's website, rebuild your carbs correctly. Install the original Mikuni parts. Ride. And put those kit parts in the "Lessons Learned" drawer.

Float needles and/or petcock leaking dumping fuel into carbs, and subsequently the engine. You need to fix the leak source and change the oil. If your gas tank has rust inside particles can hold the float needles off their seats and cause overflows. Please review all the basics and good luck.

ok i hate to be a noob but i have to ask lol,
if the petcock i dumping to much gas into the carbs shouldn't the floats act as a stop i know that they are good because i took the floats and let them soak in water and didn't any bubbles so they are good.?? .or is it just the fact that its to much gas and the carbs can't handle it

No, that would be the needle and seats failing to seal. This normally happens when there are particulates in the needle and seat, although the float level could also be set incorrectly.
