A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Cleaned up the engine a little. What type of blaster would be best for the engine and frame? I'm looking at a Soda Blaster and a Sand Blaster.

Here's a picture of my sprocket on the my 82 if it helps you any FC

Your right, It's an old 67 Le-Mans. I tore it a part about 20 years ago and never have put it back together. I should be working on it and nothing else....haha

If I ever run across one I'll get it but for now I'll clean this one up and use it. It's been 100 to 105 here so not getting much done right now.

OK, got the frame completely apart and ready to blast. I'm going to blast the frame, swing arm and engine tomorrow.

Mess in the shop

Thanks for the sprocket pictures. I think I got it all figured out now :).

So you're going to blast the frame yourself? That's awesome!

Man, I can't say sand blasting is fun. I have that stuff all over me. But it's getting there.

I don't think I'll get the frame fully bare but as long as I get the rust off I'm happy.

No problem FC, if I ever get around to the engine I'll see how my valves are also. Makes me wonder if they have the same cam gears as what your dealing with.

That's an awesome job you have done there sir. I'm eventually going to do that to mine but I want it running and ridden before I do a full teardown/rebuild/make pretty hopefully this winter.

Almost finished with the primer

Hope to get some of the top coat on today although time isn't on my side.

Did a little painting today. Will wet sand it tomorrow to clear those bad spots and put another coat on it. This is my first time painting some thing so it's what I expect.

What kind of paint did you use for the frame?

I don't know if you dig it or not but I would remove those extra stickers on the gas tank . A heat gun works great! Or maybe you're planning on repainting the body work too?

Looking good!

The stickers will be coming off and I hope to paint the tank and stuff within the year.

The black on the frame is High Heat Engine paint. It looks ok, not the best but not bad.

The frame is looking good, a bit of sanding here and there and a touch up and it will be better than new, job well done, keep up the quality work.
I see something special being born.
