A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

82 paint color.

I?m thinking about painting an 82 1100E from the putridly awful worst color ever beige to a bright medium blue metallic that was on 74GT 750s. I am a top quality painter so the finish will be better than the 80 year old Japanese lady that painted it at the factory.Anyone think that would devalue it at all? Low mile mint original. Or should I just burn it and bury it?:)

My "Spidey senses" tells me that original unrestored vintage bikes are going to continue to rise in value. Then again, the collector market tends to ebb and flow just like other fads. I'd say paint it whatever color you like, if the prices go through the roof you can always go back to original or at least a color original to that year.

In the case of this one it?s cosmetically perfect in every way so in my estimation this particular GS will be enhanced by the color change,so the fact is original or not it will be spectacular. Thanks.

Of you are concerned about resale at all, I would paint the bike the stock silver color. I don?t recall ever see a beige EZ, but i?m Pretty sure I have never seen an OEM silver blue either.

the silver will pass close enough as a stock , unmolested bike, and the silver will cover the tan well enough if you don?t plan on completely stripping the tank.

and do the reproduction decals as that is a dead giveaway for a repaint.

If its beige why is your name red1100 ? I want to see a picture of a beige EZ...I have a red 83, the beige one is on Seattle Craigslist, numerous attempts to contact by the idiotic email only on c/l and no reply. If I get ahold of the seller I’ll buy it.
