I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I recently bought my first bike and chose an '83 GS850G. The bike I bought has a bad exaust on it. All ofthe exhaust I am finding are for an 80-81. I did find one on ebay which claims to fit a 79-83 made by Jardine. If the Jardine one will fit a 79 to 83 then wouldn't the 80-81 Vance and Hines fit an 83 also????

Any help would be appreciated.

I think the only noteable differences between the 850s was the "standard" and the "L" models. I don't know for sure, but the L might have different hanger mount locations.
I do know the stock pipes were shorter on the "L", just don't know about the hanger locations.

GS850G Exhaust

Just curious to know if you ever found a supplier for an exhaust system that would fit your bike. I haven't been able to find one for mine. 1982 GS850G

Were I you, i would visit the Vance and Hines website and email them...ive emailed them with a couple questions regarding my 77 750 pipe and they've been very quick to respond. Usually the next day, tho one time it did take a couple days to respond. Im sure they'd be able to tell you. However I dont think that the 850 motor changed much at all durring its lifespan in design. SO the ports should be the same, it would just be a matter of the hangers like Steve said.

Between '79 and '80 a "collector" and bracket was added to the exhaust, but the exhausts are still basically exchangable.

In other words an exhaust that will fit a '79 G should fit an '83 G.

When I bought my new exhaust both Jardine and Vance/Hines had new 4-1 exhausts that were available.
