    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

And WOW! Old phart has now been blown away. Its just the love of all things mechanical. Its a worm that doesn't stop turning, we all have it or why else would we be here? Generally you will find that there are way more gearheads in the motorcycle world than the average car person. Get to the board level and its the drawing of commonality that makes us hunt out others of the particular ilk. And all forms of mechanical representation should be welcomed, whether Brat, rat, concours and every other class or category in between- its just variations of the love of machinery.

I put a couple more up ill get some more as soon as i can.and Yes i will black the e in final detail

I'm liking that a bunch. What's the rest of the bike like? Any picts?

Whoa - an '81 X'er - still got it? I had a Candy Glory Red '79 and loved it. I knew all its shortcomings and such, but at redline that howl ran goosebumps down your spine. But she never had that brute torque a GS makes. Sort of like a 911 versus a hemi'cuda. Both go, but from different points of the spectrum.

6pk Yes i do and it a 82 and it dynoed at a 147 HP and 97 knso of torqe with just 79 cams timing and 36mm carbs FYI if you shifted at red line you shifted way to early these motors was good for 14,000 with a chain tensi?ner upgrade i Love the x but wants a 79 to

I was hoping to replace my '79, but the prices that they're going for is a tad steep. However, with what I got into the E, I could have gotten at least one.

But no regrets. I'm looking forward to the E and hope it works as good as I remember them.

I think the e is awsome i rode mine before i took it a part it it was no problem standing it up in third with just a twist of the wrisk
