If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

First of all I would like to say hi, this is my first post on this site and after hours of reading I'm happy this is my first DEPENDABLE bike to own. I'm a new rider and wanted to start out slow in learning bikes. I started with a safety course and then purchased my 83 GS850G this last month. I couldn't be happier with my purchase as this bike runs like a champ! I'm in Dallas, TX, 83GS850G, 225000 Miles. I take care of everything I own and the bike certainly is one of them. All the fluids have been changed out and body parts have been repainted. (Pictures to come). I have one thing I really want to fix and that is I need to replace the left front turn light piece. Can anybody help? This site is amazing and great to see that those that own these style bikes care so much. I'm proud to be part of this group and can be as much of a contributor as possible. If anyone can help with the turn signal I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks again and Safe Riding

Thanks for the help! Being new to motorcycles I didn't know that other models use the same parts.

Ok did some searching and I lost to someone, in this group probably, for a set of orgianl turn signals on ebay so I'm looking for something else. I could get these but I just don't like the way they look: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4556298526&category=35598

They have a posting for my 850 that supposedly fits my bike but I wanted to check first and see if anyone else has used them on their bike before. Any help is greatly appreciated

On my '83 850, I found aftermarket front turn signals from Dennis Kirk that fit perfectly and were the correct squarish shape, but they were black plastic instead of chromed plastic.

Of course, the chromed plastic signals may be available now, but it's something to keep in mind. No one seems to notice that the front pair is black and the rear signals are chrome.

You can see the rear chrome signal a little better:

Any of the small generic aftermarket ones will work (electrically they're all the same), but you will have to improvise a way to mount them -- they don't use the large square mounting holes.

Your local motorcycle salvage yard may have them cheaper than you can order new (Suzuki wants $80-something, aftermarket ones may not be the same quality). I think the rectangular turn signals were shared across the line as much as possible.

After one of my chrome ones got crunched (very high winds pushed my bike over), I picked up a pair of black rectangular ones at a salvage yard for $20. My GS1100GL had all four in chrome (stock), and someday I might get a chrome replacement and change back to original style, but it doesn't matter that much to me.
