Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Heres when i got it

and heres what we ended up with tonight

Is that beer empty?

Oh and keep these pics coming. It si truly fun to watch a build \ resto.

I hope you saved the rear fender and taillight cos they would sell for a good price on ebay.

haha no the beer wasnt empty we were to busy ripping parts off! it really only took us about an hour to do that. and ya i still have all the parts...aside from the air box...we got kinda angry with it and it didnt make it out in one peace. quick question if i do air pod and open up the exhaust what kinda jets should i run? am i ok with stock just a retune??

Aw crap I see you other post on the bobber job on the L model. Sorry if I came off as a smart ass.

You are doing a nice cautious job on the bike. It looks pretty damned clean so you are in luck.

Anyway keep the pics coming.

Do a search on here and you'll find dozens of threads about the subject. Most folks will tell you that you will need to rejet and recommend getting a Dynojet setup. Just remember it's all relative to your bike though and you'll have to spend lots of time in tests and trials.

OH man killing the airbox eh?
If you pull the rear wheel and remove the big assed bolts from the cushion lever then the box slips right out.

As it is you need a box cause there is not pods that fit.

I have encouraged folks to use the front bit of the box as a manifold to use with a K&N filter but hey folks that have these bikes is weird.

Acid rust spot on the swingarm clearly visible!
Damn that is such a fine example. Is it low mileage as well?

Oh and do not rape the paint on this thing it is just too fine to **** with.

ya i figured the trial and error way is just apart of carbs. and dynojet set up? like a jet kit?

Dynojet still has a kit for these bikes. K&N has a filter that goes in the stock airbox even in a stage 3 kit so pods are pointless anyway.

AS long as you have enough of the airbox to seat the filter to you can rig up a modified intake.

Of course riding in a torrent of rain would be messed up but hey?!

ya i just like the look of pods. and the air box....well be resting in pieces..hahaha and i dont plan on riding in rain anyways. im still a new rider so i avoid it : D

Haha ya we kinda raped the air box ( I didn't see your post about keeping the front half) ya there is some rust on the swing arm but that's really about it. 10k on the factory cluster I'm the 3rd owner and I guess the first guy was older and didn't do much to it/ride it. And the second owner let it sit for almost 2 years. So I've got a good sized check list befor I trust riding it

O and don't worry about being a smart ass too me I'm the last person youll ever offend!

Hey guys sorry it's been so long wit out a post. Just ran threw the tank today got it all cleaned out and ready. Got ahold of a set of carbs and I'm going to get a set of drag bars this weekend! Finished the seat (as good as its going to get until I hard tail it) and got a getto licenses plate mount. She won't be pretty any time soon but once I got some money coming in then il get my hard tail done!

What benefit will a hard tail give?
The full floater is prteey well hidden so why give up handling??

I like the look of hard tails better. The frame lines and drop seat are the biggest reasons really. And the cleaner "basic you and a motor" kinda thing

alright guys (if anybody's still reading this) after reading a very heated debate about frame mods and me realizing that it's just not going to work with this bike, Im not going to cut it up. I've gotten a few cool parts and have been fighting the carburetor so soon...I will get some more pictures up!
