A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey guys, back for some more help. Does anyone know whether a 1100e front wheel will bolt up to a 700e? Saw an 83 1100e at the local bike night and it looked like it had the same rotors and it is a 17 inch front wheel, which would be an improvement over my 16 inch stock wheel on my 700e. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. By the way, my pipe building project is ongoing, just about to start cutting and welding. Thanks guys!!!!:D

There are many more experienced on the board so they will confirm or correct this.

The 1983 GS1100E stock uses a 19" rim and so would not be compatible with your forks / fender / calipers.

Your bike night example may have a non-stock 17" front end from a later model bike ?

The whole front fork assy. from an '89 to '97 GSX 600 of 750 will fit with a slight mod to the steering stops. There is NO 17in wheel that will mount to your stock forks without MAJOR modification. The rear wheel from the same bikes is an almost bolt-on fit also. (keeps the stock swingarm too) These, and a Hagon rear shock are some of the best mods I've done to my '83 750.

The early 90's Katana 3" wide 17" rim fits with some spacer work.
