I was out riding with another guy on a '77 GS750. He had bought it as it was, slightly modded with a GSX alloy swing arm, front end and wheels, but original motor with header and cheap nasty pods. I took a ride on it and aside from some problems with warming up and what not cause he is still running the original jets (100) the bike was easily quicker than mine. I am only missing the pods, but I didn't think that could really explain the difference between the bikes. The throttle response on his bike was much quicker, in fact exactly the way I would like mine to be.
When I asked him about it he said that there was a little box that sat under his seat that controlled the ignition timing on the bike. It it roughly 2" by about 3?" long and has little cooling fins on it. He said it is what makes his throttle quicker.
Does anyone know what it is?
