A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It's just a bit messy if you don't drain it first .
Bit of a bugger getting it out later though .
I got RAD Hardchroming in Brissy to do my forks .
Money VERY well spent , I'll give you the drum .

Cheers , Simon . ;)

It's all separated and stacked in the rack.
No leaks as I tipped it over so that's a bit of a bonus.

The forks have been rebuilt so I'm a bit hesitant to pull them apart again.
But there is a fair bit of pitting on the uppers.

Having said that, I was hesitant to pull the bike apart originally and look at me now.

well that was a beaut. of a read.. took me a few days haha.

very cool thread.. and sounds like i need to pay some friends in autralia a visit in january haha, and then check out this racing you've mentioned haha.

i'm trying to decide if i want to cafe my bike or leave it as is and just clean it up a bit..

Don't worry Leigh, you'll get there ;)

My guess is it will take you less than 10 years also... ha

I didn't need to do anything about the chrome on my forks, but Simon's about the 5th person I've had tell me RAD are the place to fix 'em...

Thanks mate.
It's been a wandering sort of epic so far and I still really haven't got anywhere with it.

I might have a look around for a place down here for the forks if I need to do them.
I'll see if I can get a bit more of it out myself first.

Mmmmm tasty indeed!!!! I had something along those lines years ago... all gone now though.

any of you guys have an opinion about this plastikote anodizit stuff?

http://www.plastikote.com/products/Specialty/Anodizit-Top-Coat.html

thinking of doing my tank and side covers with it.. maybe the gauge housings too..

I used their brand plastic paint (black) for my chain guard and fork trim but that's about it...

haha i intend to, but leigh seems to have some experience with paint so i was hoping he's used it or knows someone that does haha

you do agree with me if i say that s a PITA, just by looking at it!:D

Should probaly start a new thread instead of jacking this one:-\\\
Hahahaha.. I see what you did there :)
Leigh seems to have some experience with paint
Only in reapplying it after a crappy job.
I don't know about the paints mentioned, there are others who would know more.

It has a kind of silicone elasticity to it. I think I could sculpt something nice and bake it in a kiln

Hahahahaha lovin' it!

Leigh... you could sculpt out a mini Fat Girl... call her the Skinny Sheila...

Don't mind us Aussies and our strange ways Etcheberri... we corrupted Charlie a while ago... hahahha

I was going to make a little Tar Baby.

Yeah, Etch, you should see the Chain Slurry Garden Gnomes that Charlie has made. :D

I'm back from a stonking weekend down at The Island.
I'm only just recovering now. Big, big weekend.

I just wanted to leave a short note here to say that there will be no progress on the rebuild for a little while until I sort myself for Christmas.
