A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thas what i meant by "as possible". the stock 1000 lowers from Dale, the seat hinges and frame arent butchered, the inner fenders are there, its not that far off from being close now!! Stcok lowers, a seat, some side cover emblems and tank badges..not that bad of a deal. Find some stocker exhaust too..Oh abd slotted iscs..if i recall..were actually stock on the E models.
Planned on keeping it mostly stock.Have a stock seat coming, with a decidedly not stock cover.Going to get a more stock looking cover but I'm not going to be a stickler for an exact match. So yeah I think you will like the result.Check out my 750 build, other than the eye popping colour it's pretty restrained.
Edit:Love to find a set of stock pipes. Most of the mufflers are rotted though.Even if I found a set the shipping would probably kill the deal.I'd love to just get a set of front pipes and graft the Dunstalls on them. They are 28" long only slightly shorter than the 1000s

I found a source for the 78 1000 C and E seat covers..I ordered one of each since i have each bike. I will be posting pics as soon as they come and i get them on a bike..hang loose on the seat cover till i get this done..see the "distressed 1000 seat...." thread in the for sale section.

OK this "easy" brake improvement is turning into a bit of a PITA.Looking in the gallery pictures the C and E have different rotors (sigh). What to do? Get another C rotor? Two E's? And the fork leg.O yeah easy!:-s

get the two E lowers from Dale..and i will send you the rotors and a right side rootr..swap it all out and replace the fork seals while they are apart..done in a day.

Wait a minute, you have to replace seals?I'm out, done.Good bye.Just joking.Chuck how big are those E rotors? If they are a little under 12 inches(hard to get an accurate measure with it still on) they are the same as the C.Limited budget here. What about swapping in a 16 inch front?:D

10 13/16 diameter..not all scoured up either..very good rotor. and the calipers are good too..just need the dust boots replaced..still available aqt Suzuki for a few bucks each.Nothing major there for an expense. And as far as the rotors and caliper goes..pay me the shipping and they are yours. They are the flat..not slotted style though..may be a deal breaker for you!!!

I realize shipping to British Columbia may be stout but if my original exhaust from my '80 750 L will fit, you can get it cheap. Needs help cosmetically, I don't know if they are beyond cleaning and should be painted but seems very solid. One muffler has a dent like a softball hit it, so your Dunstalls would be the best solution. To save shipping costs I could cut the mufflers off before boxing it up where ever you want the cut to be at.
If it would fit and if you are interested let me know.

Got the PM..give me a day or two to pull the piston and be sue the inside of the caliper is clean.. I got a few of them, so i will make a good one from the selections..

Chuck:It is my winter project so I'm not in a rush here.Gathering parts. You really want to see this with stock E style brakes don't you? I need a stock style MC for this,16mm I think.Have one? I'd pay you for it.Could get a new one but it would not be the round style.Thank you for this very generous offer.
Hoosier:IIRC the spacing of the 2 valves motors are different than the 4 valves.Am I right or wrong on this?

Greg, I just checked the P/N on the lowers. the 'C' and 'EC' use different lowers on the left. you'll need both EC lowers to add dual discs.

is the wheel drilled for dual discs?

Its your bike brother..you do as you want..im got the stock E stuff, so i was offering it up. your bike has mags, so its already predisposed to accept these parts.

Yeah I was wondering about that to and was going to ask.The plan is to take the wheel off today and check. It's the first day of my weekend so that's the plan,if it stops raining:p.Do you have both?

Rain and cold? yep!

yes I have both lowers. I have three sets of forks to be exact. One very good set Chuck sent me, the 2~3 footers I bought off Ebay and the rusty set that came with the bike.

The rusty ones are still good donors for the lowers if i remember correctly.I remember the rust on the uppers when we took them off Dale..gheez!!

Those are the lowers He'll be getting.

Chuck, what do you expect for a $15 bike? Rostfrei stuff? :p

YES!! Dang it!! That $15.00 was hard to come by... LOL The lowers are what i was referring to as the GOOD parts. The upper chrome area i know is bad.
