As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Advice on removing crank

The crank is free on the stator end but is stuck on the distributor end. The black piece (a seal?) seams to be stuck in the upper case. I am being very careful but what can I do to free this crank from the upper case without ruining the crank or it's attached parts? Thank for your help.

Wow, that engine is so tidy.

I just went thru this myself, I had to use a very small exacto knife from grizzly. Pointy and slash cut, maybe 2-3mm wide.
Careful reeming along the perimeter of the seal, using the case half moon as the guide.
I was trying to save the seal, but if you aren't then maybe fishing line or a thin gauge guitar wire might work, held on both sides.
Probably could lever it off toward the the bottom of the picture, using the bearing as a pivot point.

I still had the top end on mine, trying to seperate the lower case half w/o disturbing the crank. It finally let go, but not w/o a lot of patience.

Put a flat blade screwdriver between the seal & bearing and pry the seal out sideways. Ray.

I just got it apart! Once I figured out for sure that it was the seal was holding it in, I carefully levered it out. Thanks Carter! How hard is it to get the stator magnet off with the crank out?

What are doing to the engine? Does that really need to come off now? I imagine it'll be tough out of the frame & case, never done that.

I made this years ago, but used it when the motor was still in the frame. I don't have any air tools.

I'm shiping this crank to Kiwicanuk and I'd like to lighten the load.

Charlie, There is a tool which threads into the rotor (stator magnet) and keeps on threading in and the rotor pops off.
Not sure if you have access to that tool. If you do lube it well before inserting it and use a big breaker bar for leverage, you will need some-one to hold the crank obviously.
The cost to ship will probably be the same whether the rotor is attached or not is my guess, so unless you really need to keep the rotor just leave it on.

I really appreiciate your effort to help, thank you.:clap::clap:
