As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

DanMoto 180

DanMoto 180

I have the Moto180 on 77 xs750. Oddly enough, it works great. Locating the hall sensor was pretty easy, but mounting the pick-up took a little patience and a few drinks.

How do those electric gauge clusters work with mechanical cables?

Word of caution on that Dan Moto. I found moisture under the glass & the kph were all wrong. I took it off & discovered that when I tightened the 2 bolts that hold it to the flat piece of stock that I mounted it on, that the plastic cracked around the bolts allowing moisture in. The factory wants it back & I will report back with their findings.

Might have been easier (and quicker) without the "few drinks". :-\\\

the danmoto 180 on mine as well. really cleans up the front on my gsxr conversion

That think looks really cool, I had to take double and triple take. :D

Ever consider putting a 1st Gen GSXR 750 in it? Then it would have the "bite to match the bark".

Here is a set of '93 GSXR clocks on my '83 GS1100E. I have a '93 GSXR forks on it. My mechanic got the speedo and tach sorted out but the temp gauge has yet to be completed.

Question to the guys that installed a dan moto unit.
how did you get the tach to work?,did you need to use a resistor or diode somewhere in the line?
i got all functions but the RPM to work

thanks

Iirc, the wiring was mislabeled from dan motto for the tach. I'll check mine & let you know.

Ok, just checked my Dan Moto diagram. The rpm wiring was mislabelled in my diagram. You actually want to wire up the blue/black wiring to get the tach to work. At least that's the way mine was.

Let me know if this fixes it, please

Thanks,
I got the colour right, in my unit it's a red\white wire.
Did you just connected the wire to a negative coil terminal and it worked?
or did you have to make some kind of a harness with diodes, resistor and join all the coils?

Eran

Nope, just connected it to the appropriate wire in the harness. No fuss, no muss.

Are you sure it's the negative wire at the coil?

The + size of the coil is constant, the negative is the pulsing so i think this is where it picks the signal from

Does anyone know the Tach ratio for a 1979 GS550? I read that the 850 is a 1:4 and was thinking the 550 would be the same but want to make sure since it takes a few weeks for parts to arrive over here.
