DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I'm doing my carbs and noticed that my air cleaners foam (OEM) is disintegrating rapidly and crumbling to bits. I've noticed that the new replacement air cleaners are avail for around 50 plus shipping. I also notice that they don't use foam but a sort of paper product for the actual filter. Do these breathe differently and do I need to jet differently to make my bike run smoothly? It's an 82 GS1100G. Is there anyplace where I can buy replacement foam or are they history? cheers Paul

Hi babes. As a Rat-biker id recommend going to a foam shop and blagging a...... "sample" ov the same density etc...

$50 for a bit ov foam!!! They're having a laugh.

Good luck.

Hi Paul,

I have both the foam Uni filter and the K&N cotton filter. I interchange them as necessary, depending on which one is clean at the time, and I don't notice any difference in performance or mileage. Just make sure not to over-oil them.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Aha

Aha

I checked the usual online parts sources but they don't seem to list the KN or UNI filter options. Where in the world do you get them? cheers PK:confused:

Just did a google search on "uni nu-2436" and received tons of hits.

most of my parts seem to come from ebay... I got a K&N for my '80 GS550, bolts straight up into the stock air box (they are technically "discontinued" from K&N, but a lot of ebay sellers still have new-old stock on the shelves, which is where mine came from).

Boggled!

Boggled!

So I've been to the UNI website and it doesn't seem like I can order from them as their website has no "shop" function. I've spotted some ebay sellers but have no idea what it is they're selling as no pics or other info. KN seems to be discontinued/unavailable as well. I've even emailed UNI asking for retailers in my area but absolutely no response. BB and Boulevard don't seem to have it either any ideas on where to buy these products? Cheers Paul:)
