A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

i second that Matt. i have a couple of extra drain plugs laying around. as to what Hikermikem posted for me. I do know that they are kind of scratched up on the outside. i've been trying to locate some new ones but cant find them anywhere. i even tried googling them.

I hate to ask, but in what are you holding this plug? :D

Thank you for your indulgence,

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought that when I saw that picture.

Oh, and kparkfan... I would love to find a supply of needle jets (and other hard to find parts for this carb) as I'm down to my last two good ones in my two good bikes.

rustybronco: i have an extra drain plug and have wanted to do that as well (make a measurement gauge). Can you recommend how to do that?

Thanks,
Matt
Drill a small hole through the center of it and attach a hose nipple* to it.

* a barbed connector :)

Ok heres what I found when i took the carbs apart. one of my needle jets has a bad oring and is loose as hell. Think i just found the reason for it being a pain in my butt. now the question is, does cycle-orings sell individual orings. or should i just order it from my dealer.

Did you replace ALL the o-rings recently? If not, get the kit and go though the carbs.

For the cost of an o-ring or two, plus shipping, you can probably order a complete set from cycleorings.com.

.

yeah i just replaced them. i must have shredded it somehow trying to get it in the hole. I usually pic my stuff up fom southside plus i have to order a couple other things and im only needing the one oring and they have them for 74 cents. so do you guys think that it being loose is what was causing my troubles. letting gas get by or something.
