A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Almost there...

Well, the parts are ordered and the engine block for my GS300L parts bike is sitting on a shop floor, ready for installation. I ordered the rings, o-rings, circlips, and head gaskets. All of the parts are on their way. I'll give them to the mechanic and have him re-assemble the motor. I'll bolt it back into the frame, install the new signal generator, re-wire the bike, install the carbs and set up the throttle and it should start right up. Gonna give the bike to my mom as a late christmas gift. I'll make sure she has a helmet and when she rides, she rides with me. im gonna get her some steel toe boots too. Should be pretty great.

Excellent .. hope it goes back together and purrs like a ... kitten :)

I was surprised by your age, 1 that you want to ride older bikes, and 2 that you can get a license in your state. Here you need to be 16 to get a permit and 16 1/2 to get a license after drivers ed training and all that.

My son is 13 and I could not see him on a motorcyle in 1 year, let alone be willing to work on it. I try to get him out working with me on mine but gets "bored" to quick... its not liek every second of an oil change is supposed to exciting.

Yea, my dad has an 81' KZ1000. He got in in 08. I wanted nothing to do with it when he first got it. Riding on it seemed terrifying. Back then it was like, "hey dad what are those?" Dad says, "Those are the carburetors" I say, "oh, ok". I knew nothing about bikes back then. I rode all summer on a GS300L street bike. I know its a big jump to get a 1000 but, the way i see it, you can die going 30 mph on bicycle if you crash. A 1000 is just heavier and has WAY more horsepower. I love the older bikes. They're just.. cooler im my eyes. Everybody has a crotch rocket, you don't see to many 79' KZ1000s anymore. Not in Sioux city anyway. I only like a crotch rocket if its a hayabusa. I like projects too so this 1000 is gonna be perfect for me. I'll post pics of both the GS300L and the KZ1000 side by side in the summer time when they're both running.

Thats true, when he gets closer to being able to ride he might be more interested in wrenching a bit. He did help our more on his bmx bike, put a set of ape hangers on it that came in the box of parts for my wifes rebel... however some kids passing by took the bmx from the yard one day, sure I told him to lock it or put it in the garage but doesnt excuse whoever took it.

Looks like the came in the path in the back that goes to the Christian school of all places... I asked them if they had any cameras that might have shown who it was but guess they have no security.

Give your kid a base ball bat and tell him to go get his bike back:D I tried to put straight drag bars on my Dino BMX bike. Wasn't to comfortable at all:)

If we knew where it ended up we would have it back... Think I would let him take the paintball guns too :p
