DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I think I need a new battery for the GS450GA. It uses a YB12, which is rare and expensive.

Its there an alternative? Dimensions(in):6.3 x 3.54 x 5.16

I am in the process of searching for others, but taking some time. Any suggestions welcomed.

Thanks.

Ive switched to gel batteries in recent years.....I order direct from the company....I think they were outta Delaware.....soon as i find a link will post.....
I was replacing wet cells yearly....went to the gel, and its been good now for 3 years....

OK, I looked at an AGM alternative (EXT12 or YTX12-BS) , which is slightly smaller in size than the original GS450GA battery. The AGM battery is not listed for the GS450GA, with some web sites stating it is not compatible and others stating it is compatible. But I think it should fit and the terminals are in the correct location, but there is a question about power and output. The AGM has lower amperage (10 AH v 13 AH) but higher CCA (180 v 165). My understanding is that AGM tends to store less energy, thus the lower amperage. I am tempted to go with the AGM because of the low maintenance from being sealed.

Does anyone have any advice before I pull the trigger?

Denniskirk.com Good prices, good info, fast shipping. See one of my other posts about setting up the battery.

I remember now....it was a Deka battery out of southeastern Pennsyltucky (550cca). I got it direct. If ya go the Kirk or Superstore, or wherever, they tack on a bunch. Was only like 2 days shipping too, free shipping.
Go to the Deka website, and find your closest source. Im goin on winter #4 with mine now. Only put it on the tender when it gets below 20 deg F.
